Mercedes-Benz pulls off cover from the V177 A-Class sedan

KUALA LUMPUR: Three months after Mercedes-Benz unveiled the LWB Z177 A-Class for China, the company has finally revealed the standard V177 A-Class for sedan-friendly markets like ours. This car is expected to create a storm in the market with its handsome looks and a never-ending list of features.

The all-new A-Class sedan is exactly the same as its hatchback sibling, except the added boot. It carries the similar exceptional and gorgeous design. The set of tapered LED headlights gives the car an aggressive and mean appearance, whereas the rear features a set of two-part combination LED tail lights, somewhat similar to that of the A-Class L Sedan.

The new A-Class has got a very efficient aerodynamic design. In fact, it holds a record of having the lowest drag coefficient of 0.22 on a production vehicle. To achieve this, Mercedes has really looked into the tiniest of details. For example, extensive sealing around the headlights has been done to make sure the air flows right past them without any interruption.

The interior of the new A-Class sedan is exactly what you would expect from a German car - flawless, luxurious, and comfortable. The new wide and large twin displays are really an eye-catcher. It makes you feel you are sitting in a car from the future. Also, the new wing-shaped dashboard is spectacular and will make you feel in awe every time you step inside the cabin.

Mercedes is going to provide the new A-Class sedan with two engine options at the time of its launch. One is going to be a 1.33-litre turbocharged 4-pot unit that produces 163 hp and 250 Nm of torque. And the other one is expected to be a 1.5-litre turbo diesel with 116 hp and 260 Nm of torque. There will be only a single transmission option - a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7G-DCT).

There is no date regarding the launch of the new A-Class Sedan here in Malaysia. But the fact that its production is going to start this year, we are expecting it to hit the showrooms sometime during the mid of 2019, or maybe even before.
