Proton unveils accessories for X70

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton X70’s accessories are now official, after four months of the vehicle’s launch (in three trim levels). It now has some genuine optional equipment which will be practical for both the brand and customers.

Designing wise, the Proton X70 can be schlepped with the side steps and door visors, which cost RM 1,499 and RM 288, respectively. There is also an option to add a rear bumper scuff plate for RM 199, while four pieces of door handle’s protective film cost around RM 100.

The buyer can also choose between the Llumar solar and security window film/tinting. The former is priced at RM 1,688. Whereas, for security window film/tinting the buyer will need to pay RM 2,388. One can also add a sunroof by spending RM 200.

Getting inside the car, there is the availability of dashcam (digital video recorder), which costs RM 1,299. Accessories also include coil mats (RM 185) and magnetic sun shades (RM 228). The former gets three pieces, which include one big piece for the rear, while the latter has four pieces. Also, there is Proton’s existing child seat, which can be owned for RM 799.

The carmaker is also offering a plastic boot tray having the price tag of RM 188 that helps to protect the cargo area carpet and can be cleaned easily. There is also an option to get a four-hook cargo net (RM 55) that helps to hold the items in place and a foldable trunk organizer having two compartments and side pockets for RM 75.

The optional items are also available in groups named as Utility and Urban packages. The former consists of door visor, side steps, boot tray, trunk organiser, the magnetic sun shades and a cargo net. It costs RM 2,060, while if you buy these items separately then you have to pay RM 2,333. So the package will save you RM 273.

On the other hand, the Urban package comes with a dash cam, coil mats, rear bumper scuff plate, Llumar security film, and door protective film. The package has a price tag of RM 3,750 or RM 3,900, depending on whether you include the sunroof or not. This package thereby saves RM 421 and RM 471, respectively (depending upon the inclusion of sunroof).
