PROTON welcomes back Dato’ Abdul Rashid Musa as Deputy CEO
KUALA LUMPUR: PROTON Holdings Berhad has officially confirmed the return of Dato’ Abdul Rashid Musa to the company, this time as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. His appointment took effect on 1 November 2025, and he will report directly to PROTON CEO, Dr Li Chunrong.

After his tenure at PROTON, Dato’ Abdul Rashid moved to UMW Holdings Berhad, where he led the aerospace division and later spearheaded initiatives focusing on mobility, innovation, and sustainable development.
His work there was aligned with the national agenda to strengthen Malaysia’s industrial and technological capabilities.

With Dato’ Abdul Rashid stepping into his new role, Ainol Azmil will return to his position as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and continue to oversee PROTON’s Group Technical Procurement division as its Senior Director.
The company also expressed appreciation for his leadership and steady hand during the transition period, which ensured continuity in management and operations.
