Shell Malaysia and TNG teams up for fuel payments

KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Malaysia and Touch ‘n Go to sign a memorandum-of-understanding (MoU) for fuel payments enabling people to pay for fuel with an RFID tag installed on the vehicle. There are a total of 10,000 free TBG RFID tags on offer, can be grabbed from 15th February to 31st March 2020.

Along with this, e-tunai recipients can avail a benefit of receiving a cashback of RM5 and RM2 by spending a minimum of RM20 at Shell stations nationwide, valid from 17th February to 14th March 2020. Additionally, people can get a free RFID tag at select Shell stations by spending a minimum of RM50 via the TNG eWallet app.

TBG RFID tags

Currently, the TNG eWallet payments are supported by around 950 Shell stations but from now on the people can experience a seamless paying experience in the form of RFID fuelling. The process will be so seamless and quick that you, as a customer, need not have any interaction with a point-of-sale system or with your smartphone. The payments will be made automatically at the bay through the vehicle-attached RFID tag, receipt or payment details of the same can be viewed on the TNG eWallet app.

TNG CEO, Syahrunizam said, “950 Shell stations have become cashless with our Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Soon, Malaysians will be able to experience RFID fuelling, that allows payments to be completed at the bay without any interaction with their mobile phone or point-of-sale system”.
