Subaru Malaysia launches 2021 Forester GT Lite Edition

KUALA LUMPUR: Subaru Malaysia’s lineup now includes a new, sporty model - the 2021 Forester 2.0I-L GT Lite Edition. Similar to the previously launched Forester 2.0i-S EyeSight GT Edition, the new GT Lite Edition is based on an existing Forester trim, in this case, it’s the 2.0i-L variant.

Priced at RM 163,788, the tag includes a 5-year/100,000 km warranty and factors sales tax relief, i.e., 50 percent as the SUV is imported from Thailand. Though the price does not include insurance it does get the car a rugged and masculine body kit.

• Front and rear bumper lip extensions
• Side skirts
• 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels with snow flake pattern
• Roof spoiler

• Larger than before exhaust finisher

Apart from the above-mentioned outer styling elements, the rest of the car looks identical to the existing model.

2021 Subaru Forester 2.0i-L GT Lite Edition interior inclusions -

• Dual-zone automatic air-con system

• 360 degree around view monitor

Similar to the Forester 2.0i-L trim, the new GT Lite Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated, flat-four, direct-injection mill . The unit churns out a maximum power of 156 PS at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 196 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a Lineartronic CVT and the SUV tops 193 kmph. Further, the engine gets a SI-Drive system that includes two drive modes - Intelligent and Sport. Also, part of the SUV’s performance kit is the brand's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, active Torque Vectoring, Hill Descent Control, and regular X-mode.

2021 Subaru Forester 2.0i-L GT Lite Edition safety kit remains the same as the 2.0i-L model. So, it benefits from seven airbags, ABS with EBD & BA, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Electronic parking brake with Auto Vehicle Hold, and Isofix child seat anchors.

Subaru is offering the 2021 Forester 2.0i-L GT Lite Edition in as many as seven colour options, including Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Dark Grey Metallic, Jasper Green Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Horizon Blue Pearl, Dark Grey Metallic, and Sepia Bronze Metallic.
