Upcoming Pajero Sport teased; gets limited tweaks

KUALA LUMPUR: Bringing the upcoming Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in line with the Japanese automaker wider lineup of vehicles, the SUV now gets a raft of minor changes. According to the reports, the facelift model would be revealed soon, to be precise, on 25th July 2019.

The ongoing model was launched way back in 2015, and since then it has been one of the best-selling sports utility vehicles in the market. It tops the sales figure of the likes of Isuzu mu-X, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest.

The information about the 2020 Pajero Sport is limited with Mitsubishi still to reveal some in the future. However, some details about the SUV can be sourced from the teaser images of the new Triton. The updated SUV is expected to come with tweaked headlight graphics, be more robust, and display a slightly chunkier version of the brand’s Dynamic Shield grille design.

Similar to the new Triton, the Pajero Sport facelift could feature more active safety tech along with higher-quality interior than the current model. That being said, the ongoing Pajero Sport range offers autonomous emergency braking as a standard fitment. On the other hand, the range-topping models offer a surround-view monitor, blind-spot monitoring, and they also have a system that is designed to limit wrong-pedal accidents at low speed.

The 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport gets a bunch of minor engine updates, they are now designed to offer improved refinement without providing extra power. The current model of the SUV is powered by a 2.4-litre turbo diesel mill that churns 181 PS and 430 Nm.
