2019 Honda Civic Hatch to sport Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic color

KUALA LUMPUR: The Honda Civic is one of the sportiest offerings from the Japanese automaker in the C-segment space. The latest facelift of the model made its debut in Thailand back in November 2018. With the facelift, the sporty sedan has received quite a lot of visual updates and a new color option - Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.

However, at the time of the debut of the Honda Civic sedan, the facelifted hatchback wasn’t introduced. But now, based on a reliable source, the Civic Hatch facelift will make it to the Thailand market soon. Moreover, it will be getting the same Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic color tone along with Honda Sensing safety suite. The Honda Civic Hatch has the same width and wheelbase as the sedan version, however, it is taller in height and shorter in length. It has a bigger boot space of 727 litres than the sedan, albeit when the rear seats are folded.

Under the hood of the Honda Civic Hatch is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is capable of pumping out 173 PS of maximum power and 220 Nm of peak torque. In fact, the peak torque comes in as early as at 1,700 rpm. A CVT gearbox takes care of the transmission duties and a paddle shifter is also given inside the cabin.

The Honda Civic Hatch was first launched in Thailand in 2017. It is presently sold at a price of 1,169,000 Thailand baht (RM 150,600 approx). The facelifted hatchback will be launched in the country in the Q1 of 2019. However, the demand for the hatchback isn’t very strong in Malaysia, which is the reason that is holding the company from bringing it over here.
