With this year’s contribution, Toyota’s efforts since 2020 have brought in over half a million ringgit for the cause.

“Mobility extends beyond vehicles, it is about moving people forward in every sense of the word,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor. “The SYI Outrun is a powerful reminder of the positive change we inspire when we move with meaning. Today, Malaysians of all backgrounds came together for a common purpose of bringing hope, and this is the true spirit of Start Your Impossible.”

Making headlines this year was the introduction of a new 21KM Half Marathon category — a move that added grit and endurance to the usual 10KM and 5KM offerings.

The event welcomed not only experienced runners, but also families, cancer survivors, and first-time participants walking or pushing wheelchairs in memory or celebration of loved ones. Some ran alongside their elderly parents, others brought their children, making the event a true community affair.

Among those participating were members of groups such as Persatuan Pelari Anak Luar Biasa – Little Fighter Runners and Bikeisable, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event. The morning wasn’t just a race; it was a mosaic of personal stories — each step a tribute, a comeback, or a promise.

While runners took to the road, the event grounds turned into a wellness-themed carnival. Visitors stopped by booths hosted by the NCSM, N8 Sports Nutrition, and ATF Sport Taping, where they enjoyed free health screenings and fitness consultations.

Toyota also brought out its lineup, including the Vios, Yaris G Limited, Hilux GRS, and Corolla Cross Hybrid, letting the public get up close with its latest offerings.

On the tech and sustainability front, the Beyond Zero zone offered a closer look at Toyota’s EV ambitions through showcases of the bZ4X and hydrogen-powered Mirai.

The Gazoo Racing booth brought motorsport thrills, while younger participants got their fill of fun at the kids’ zone, where percussion shows, games, and stage activities kept spirits high.

There were rewards too — the top 10 finishers in the 10KM and 21KM races walked away with a combined RM138,000 in cash prizes. Over RM19,000 worth of goodies were given away during the lucky draw, with items like a Sony Bravia TV, Garmin Forerunner Triathlon Watch, and PlayStation 5 up for grabs.

All participants received a performance race kit, while 21KM finishers were handed exclusive finisher jerseys.

The SYI Outrun continues to serve as a reminder of Toyota’s broader mission — mobility that empowers. Whether it’s a car, a cause, or a community, Toyota’s vision is rooted in creating movement that’s inclusive, meaningful, and transformative.
