2021 Mitsubishi Xpander Rockford Fosgate Black Edition now on sale in Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: Unveiled back in 2017, the Mitsubishi Xpander is one of the brand’s hot-selling models in the world. It is currently on its way to get a facelift version. But before that, the seven-seater crossover SUV received special treatment in the Indonesian market. 

The new iterations based on the ongoing Xpander Sport and Xpander Cross are dubbed as the Mitsubishi Xpander Rockford Fosgate Black Edition 2021 and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Rockford Fosgate Black Edition 2021, respectively. These special Mitsubishi models were previously introduced in the county back in October.

As the name implies, the Black Edition models boast black finishing here and there. On the Xpander Cross RFBE, we can see a black grille, 17-inch black alloy wheels, black door mirrors, black roof rails, and gloss black tailgate garnish. On the contrary, the Xpander RFBE is decked up with blacked-out dynamic shields on the front, a black front grille, black door mirrors, and 16-inch black alloys. Added to the exterior mods is a Rockford Fosgate Black Edition emblem at the back on both SUVs.

Moving inside, here the new Xpanders get a Rockford Fosgate sound system developed by the American in-vehicle audio company, as the name suggests. The system mated to a 7-inch touchscreen head unit comprises a digital signal processor, six speakers, and a subwoofer. It also offers smartphone connectivity. Other key highlights of the Xpander Cross RFBE are a multi-around view monitor with recording function, cruise control, start/stop button & KOS, and all-black leather seats. 

Powering the two SUVs is the ongoing 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-pot MIVEC engine that delivers a maximum power of 105 PS and a peak torque of 141 Nm. The engine is paired with a four-speed automatic sending power to the front wheels. However, the Xpander RFBE gets a five-speed manual unit.

The Mitsubishi Xpander RFBE and Xpander Cross RFBE price tags read 273,900,000 Indonesian rupiah (RM 79,274) and 312,650,000 (RM 90,482), respectively.
