2024 Hyundai Staria Hybrid debuts in Korea; starting from RM 122k

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai has expanded the Staria minivan lineup with the introduction of an all-new hybrid variant. The petrol-electric Hyundai Staria is offered in three variants in Korea - Cargo (3- or 5-seater), Tourer (9- or 11-seater), and Lounge (7-or 9-seater) with prices ranging between KRW 34,330,000 (RM 122k) and KRW 46,140,000 (RM 164k).

The hybrid setup comprises a 180 PS/265 Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and an e-motor generating a total system output of 245 PS and a peak torque of 367 Nm. For comparison, the ongoing Malaysia-spec minivan comes equipped with a 2.2-litre turbo diesel mill dishing out 177 PS and 431 Nm of torque.

Speaking of fuel efficiency, the environmental-friendly Staria delivers an impressive 13 kilometres per litre.

For the model year 2024, the minivan also benefits from new touch-based air-conditioning controls, USB-C ports, new wiper rain sensor, reprogrammed power sliding doors, redesigned smart key, new Type-C socket, new 2D aluminium Hyundai logo, LED interior lighting, new sliding bed for cargo model, new black high-gloss wheels (Lounge trim only), and Traffic Jam Assist.

Standard Equipment kit comprises an 8-inch infotainment unit, automatic climate control with an air purifier, a rear-view camera, front parking sensors, and an automatic defogger. 

The introduction of the Staria Hybrid marks another milestone in Hyundai's commitment to sustainability and innovation. With its cutting-edge design and eco-friendly performance, it is set to redefine the minivan segment and pave the way for a greener future in the automotive industry.

There is no official information yet available regarding the local arrival of the Hyundai Staria Hybrid.
