2026 Honda Prelude: What we know so far?
Sporty proportions
The two-door coupe measures 4,522 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,355 mm in height, and spans a 2,605 mm wheelbase. These proportions give the vehicle a low-slung and wide stance, enhancing its sporty character on the road.
Hybrid powertrain under the skin
The Prelude will come powered by an e:HEV powertrain, which is already offered with the Civic e:HEV and CR-V e:HEV. The drivetrain integrates a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine tuned to make a maximum power of 141 PS and a peak torque of 182 Nm. It acts as a generator to charge the battery, which feeds the electric motor generating 184 PS and 315 Nm. That said, the engine can also drive the wheels when required.
The hybrid setup produces a combined system output of 203 PS, transmitted to the front wheel via an e-CVT gearbox.
New ‘S+Shift’ technology
The Prelude will come equipped with Honda-first ‘S+ Shift control’ function that makes the driving experience more sporty and engaging. This technology simulates a virtual 8-speed transmission and controls engine rpm during acceleration and deceleration. Three available driving modes are - Sport, GT and Comfort.
Sporty handling
As for suspension and chassis tech, the coupe features a dual-axis strut at the front and an adaptive damper system that precisely controls damping forces. It also has an enhanced Honda Agile Handling Assist, offering improved steering responsiveness and stability during cornering.
Sleek design with a premium cabin
In terms of design, the upcoming Honda Prelude boasts a sleek and aerodynamic design with a black chrome grille, wing-style LED headlamps and unique blue accents on the front and rear.
The interior has a light and comfortable 2+2 cabin with sophisticated touches all around. As for features, we can expect a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.0-inch infotainment unit, a Bose Premium Sound system, and a Honda Sensing ADAS suite.
Before the official launch, Honda Malaysia will conduct customer preview sessions for the all-new Prelude at selected dealerships around Malaysia. These will begin from May 2 in Ampang, Selangor, and continue through Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Johor Bahru, Penang and Kota Bharu until 31 May 2026.
