All-new Nissan Juke teased, to debut soon

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a while back that Nissan released a shadowy teaser of the 2020 Juke and now the automaker has shown the car in all its glory (the camouflage still on). The images we see here are from the Millbrook testing track, in the UK where the car was recently being tested.

The car spotted is not in its full glory. However, a lot of design is visible through the camouflage. From what could be judged, the car is not as quirky as its predecessor but is still striking.

The front gets a slightly pronounced version of Nissan’s V-motion grille that connects with the sleek lighting units. The headlamps appear less divisive compared to the current model with high-mounted units.

Nissan has retained the dual-tier approach - with the main headlamps hiding below those square cutouts. As indicated by the previous teaser images, they feature a three-pointed design for that added flair. The lower apron features an angular intake with fog lamps tucked on the bumper.

Moving to the side profile, it has undergone a radical change - with wheel arches now less prominent and a distinct crease stretching all to the rear. The positioning of the rear door handles, and the shape of the side windows is similar to that of the first-gen model.

At the rear, we can see a more conventional two-piece unit now replaces the boomerang taillights. This gives the upcoming Juke a larger aperture into the boot compartment, and the tailgate has a less rakish glass.

The car would run on 19-inch alloy wheels (as standard), and other details include a larger in size interior and the adoption of ProPILOT technology.

The new Nissan Juke rides on the CFM-B platform that also underpins the Renault Captur. Under the hood configuration is expected to include a small-capacity turbo diesel and petrol unit.
