BMW i4 M electron-powered sedan spied

KUALA LUMPUR: Markus Flasch, BMW M CEO, during the reveal of M3 and M4, announced that the company's first fully electric car would be based on the i4. He further mentioned that the car would arrive next year, however, before the official reveal we have the spy images of the brand's electric sports sedan.

The camouflaged car in the images does not appear sporty enough, however, a closer inspection reveals a large kidney grille, M twin-stalk ORVMs, wider rear fenders, and wider rear track. Other M details are hard to notice due to the cladding and heavy camouflage. Also, the BMW i4 M won't be a full-blown M performance model.

The BMW i4 M model like the M350i and M550i for their respective models would act as a step up for the standard i4. Mr. Flasch mentioned that the i4 M will fall in the performance segment, but won't dethrone the M3 and M4.

The BMW i4 M spy shots resemble a bit to the Concept i4 design language. However, a few concept design elements like the thin-slit headlight and aggressive angular front bumper are missing.

The specification details of both the i4 and i4 M sedans are unknown. The former will arrive next year, and the M version is expected to follow. Though it's not a full-blown M model, we aren't sure why BMW is calling it so.
