Get ready for Honda Malaysia 'GEN H Event' presenting ‘Honda, Hybrid and Hype’

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda offers a total of four e:HEV or hybrid cars in Malaysia, including City e:HEV, City Hatchback e:HEV, HR-V e:HEV, and Civic e:HEV. To promote these hybrid models, the automaker is set to organise an exciting ‘GEN H Event’ representing ‘Honda, Hybrid and Hype’ that is all about showcasing the joy and fun associated with the hybrid technology

The ‘GEN H Event’ offers an opportunity to all Malaysians to understand and experience the Honda hybrid technology closely by participating in different exciting activities. These include - fun fair rides, an arcade, test drives, a workshop, a lifestyle food and beverage bazaar, graffiti art collaboration with local artists, and more. There are no participation fees.

Open to all, the Honda Malaysia ‘GEN H Event’ will be organised at the following locations and dates -

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said, “Honda Malaysia was the pioneer in introducing hybrid technology to Malaysians 19 years ago when we offered the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) technology in the Civic Hybrid. Response to the IMA technology was positive and we went on to introduce the Sport Hybrid i-DCD in 2017 in the City and Jazz hybrid models which were value for money, fun to drive and performance driven, catering to the mass market. This effectively changed the perception of hybrid cars among Malaysians.” 

“Today, the technology has evolved significantly, with the latest in our advanced hybrid technology, the e:HEV, a two-motor hybrid system providing powerful performance and efficiency at the same time while keeping to the fun-to-drive DNA of Honda.”

A brief on Honda hybrid cars in Malaysia 

Honda’s hybrid journey in Malaysia was initiated with the launch of the City 1.5L e:HEV back in 2020 which also marked the global debut of the sedan’s RS e:HEV version. After that, the automaker introduced the City Hatchback 1.5L e:HEV and HR-V 1.5L e:HEV in 2022. The latest in the lineup is the Civic 2.0L e:HEV launched in November 2022. To date, Honda Malaysia has sold more than 2,800 units of the hybrid City, 1,600 units of the hybrid City Hatchback, 2,600 units of the hybrid HR-V, and 600 units of the hybrid Civic.
