GWM Tank 500 now open for booking in Malaysia, est price announced

KUALA LUMPUR: After the success of the Tank 300, Great Wall Motors is set to introduce its second Tank model in Malaysia, called the Tank 500. It is a 7-seater SUV that aims to redefine the premium off-road SUV segment with its cutting-edge technology and hybrid power.

GWM Malaysia has officially opened pre-bookings for the TANK  500 HEV, with an estimated price below RM 350,000. It will be available exclusively at 14 selected GWM dealerships nationwide. 

Designed for those seeking rugged capability and sophistication, the GWM TANK 500 boasts unmatched off-road capabilities and refined premium comfort.

Dimensions

The SUV measures 5078 mm in length, 1934 mm in width, and 1905 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2850 mm.

Engine and performance

At the heart of this luxurious off-road SUV is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid engine paired with an electric motor and a nine-speed hydraulic automatic transmission. The engine is tuned to deliver 244 PS and 380 Nm of torque while the e-motor makes 106 PS and 268 Nm. The combined system output is rated at  346 PS and 648 Nm.

Off-road capabilities 

The TANK 500 is equipped with an Intelligent All-terrain system including 11 driving modes, TANK Turn, and an Off-road Cruise Control. Further making it an ultimate all-terrain luxury hybrid SUV is an intelligent 4WD with M-Lock, a transparent chassis, and an L2+ driving assistance pack.

Features

Among the premium features taking centre stage are Nappa leather upholstery, a 12-speaker Infinity sound system, and Ventilation and massage functions for front seats. 

The Malaysia-spec TANK 500 is also expected to get the following bits -

Colours

GWM Malaysia offers the premium off-road SUV in three exterior colour options - Sun Black, Crystal Gray, and Hamilton White.

As for the full details of the GWM TANK 500 HEV we need to wait for its official launch which is expected to happen later this year.
