Honda Malaysia recalls 87,490 cars over fuel pump issue
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia has issued a recall notice for a total of 87,490 cars, including the City, Civic, Accord, HR-V, BR-V, CR-V, Jazz, and Odyssey. The recall programme aims to address a potential issue with the fuel pump.

Honda vehicles affected by high-pressure fuel pump recall
The second potential issue is related to a high-pressure fuel pump, which may crack due to prolonged use and excessive stress. It can create problems like fuel leaks or fuel odour while driving or idling. A total of 3,417 units manufactured between 2023 and 2024 could be affected by this issue.

Honda Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience caused to affected customers and assures that other current models in production and sale are not impacted by this product recall.
The company states that “this product recall is necessary as customer safety is Honda Malaysia’s top priority. It will continue to take proactive measures and uphold transparency and stringent controls to ensure the safety of its customers. As such, Honda Malaysia is extending the recall to models where the warranty period has lapsed.”
Owners of the affected models will be informed by Honda Malaysia via notification letters. Customers can also check the HondaTouch app if their vehicle is affected by the recall.
Upon receiving notification, the customers are requested to book an appointment with any Honda authorised dealership for fuel pump replacement. Notably, the replacement stock will be available in stages, and the cost of replacement will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
