Jetour T2 launched in Malaysia – RM157k rugged SUV with AWD, 2.0T 375 Nm engine, 15.6-inch screen, ADAS Level 2

KUALA LUMPUR: After nearly a year of arriving in Malaysia being previewed first at Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the Jetour T2 is finally launched in Malaysia.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many variants of the Jetour T2 are available in Malaysia?

Only one variant of the Jetour T2 is available in Malaysia at launch. The single variant comes fully equipped with all-wheel drive, a comprehensive ADAS Level 2 safety suite, and a full list of comfort and technology features.
  • What engine does the Jetour T2 use?

The Jetour T2 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 1,998 cc displacement. The engine produces 375 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
  • Does the Jetour T2 have all-wheel drive?

Yes, the Jetour T2 comes with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system as standard in Malaysia. The system is paired with multiple terrain modes including Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock and X Mode, allowing the SUV to adapt to different driving conditions.
  • The new Jetour T2 enters the local market as a single, fully-equipped variant priced at RM156,800, giving Malaysian buyers a new rugged SUV option that combines bold design, all-wheel drive capability, premium cabin features and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems.

The Jetour T2 Malaysia price is set at RM156,800, with only one variant being offered for the local market. That makes the T2 a fairly straightforward proposition for buyers, because there is no need to sift through multiple trims or decide which features are missing from a lower-spec version.

What you get instead is one generously equipped model aimed at drivers who want a lifestyle SUV that looks ready for adventure but is still packed with the sort of comfort and connectivity features expected in a modern family car.

For early adopters, Jetour has introduced a launch incentive by also offering an early bird package for the first batch of buyers, with the first 3,000 registrations receiving a RM2,000 cash rebate.

This brings the effective purchase price to RM154,800 for early adopters, making the Jetour T2 even more attractive at launch. Beyond the rebate, buyers will also benefit from the brand’s standard ownership package, which includes five times free scheduled service covering labour and parts, a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, as well as an extended 10-year or 1,000,000 km powertrain warranty.

Together, these incentives are aimed at giving early customers additional peace of mind while reinforcing Jetour’s push to build confidence in the brand among Malaysian buyers.

Visually, the Jetour T2 leans heavily into the current appetite for squared-off, adventure-themed SUVs. Its upright silhouette, broad stance, prominent wheel arches and rear-mounted spare wheel cover give it a serious off-road inspired character, helping it stand apart from the many rounded crossovers now filling Malaysian roads. It is very much a style-led SUV, but Jetour has also backed that visual drama with some good hardware.

Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with DOHC and 16 valves. The engine has a displacement of 1,998 cc and delivers 375 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 4,000 rpm.

Drive is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, giving the T2 a drivetrain setup that should suit both daily commuting and rougher terrain when needed. Fuel tank capacity is rated at 70 litres, which should also make it a useful long-distance cruiser for balik kampung journeys, interstate travel or weekend escapes.

Part of the Jetour T2’s appeal is that it is not just about looks. The SUV comes with all-wheel drive and an extensive range of terrain settings. Drivers can choose from Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock and X Mode, allowing the vehicle to adapt more effectively to changing surfaces.

The presence of a dedicated terrain control dial in the centre console reinforces the T2’s positioning as something more adventurous than the usual urban SUV.

For Malaysian buyers searching for Jetour T2 specs, the chassis setup basically consists of electric power steering, MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension.

Braking is handled by ventilated front disc brakes and solid rear disc brakes, while the SUV rides on 255/60 R19 alloy wheels. These figures give the T2 the sort of stance and hardware that fit its rugged image, while still keeping the configuration familiar enough for day-to-day use.

The Jetour T2 is also a fairly substantial vehicle. It measures 4,785 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. Kerb weight is listed at 1,880 kg.

In terms of practicality, boot capacity is rated at 580 litres, expanding to 1,494 litres with the rear seats folded. The rear compartment is further supported by an electric suction back door, which should make loading and closing the tailgate easier and more secure.

Inside, the T2 attempts to balance ruggedness with modern premium touches. The centrepiece is a 15.6-inch multimedia display, supported by a 10.3-inch meter combination display. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with Bluetooth connectivity and voice assistant functionality.

A 50W wireless charger is also included, while USB ports are provided front and rear, with four ports at the front and two at the rear.

Sound is delivered through a Sony premium 12-speaker audio system, another sign that Jetour is positioning the T2 above the bare-bones off-road style SUV formula.

Buyers also get a leather steering wheel, light control and sport paddle shifters, leather seats, power windows with anti-trap, remote engine start, welcome mode, cruise control, auto start-stop system and keyless entry with push start.

Cabin comfort equipment is equally generous. The T2 comes with driver seat memory with welcome function, front passenger power seat with four-way lumbar adjustment, ventilated front seats, automatic dual-zone air-conditioning, and multi-colour ambient lighting.

There is also a panoramic sunroof, helping the cabin feel airier and more premium. In a market like Malaysia, details such as ventilated seats and dual-zone climate control should matter more to buyers than image alone, because they directly improve daily comfort in hot weather.

Exterior equipment is extensive too. The Jetour T2 gets LED headlamps with daytime running lights, automatic headlamps with follow-me-home function, LED front fog lamps with cornering lamp function, rain-sensing front wipers, and the previously mentioned electric suction back door.

The design itself is one of the car’s main selling points, because unlike many SUVs that try to look sporty, the T2 goes fully in the direction of rugged, upright and deliberate.

Safety is one of the other major talking points. Jetour says the T2 features six SRS airbags, with the material also highlighting protection from all sides through a reinforced body structure.

Standard safety kit includes electronic stability program, hill hold control, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a transparent chassis view paired with front and rear parking radar. The SUV also comes with a panoramic view monitoring system, effectively giving the driver a 360-degree surround view that should prove useful in tight city parking spaces as well as off-road situations.

More importantly, the T2 arrives with a very comprehensive ADAS Level 2 suite. The full list includes autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, integrated cruise assist, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning, lane assist interference, intelligent avoidance system, front departure alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, door opening warning, and intelligent high beam.

That is a lengthy safety equipment list for a single-variant model, and it should help strengthen the T2’s case among buyers who want the visual appeal of a rugged SUV without giving up modern driver assistance features.

The launch also marks another step in Jetour’s growing presence in Malaysia, as the Chinese brand continues building its identity in a market where buyers are becoming more open to new SUV nameplates, especially those that offer strong design, lots of equipment and aggressive value.

The Jetour T2 enters a space where rugged-looking SUVs are becoming more desirable, and while it will naturally draw attention from buyers considering alternatives such as other lifestyle-oriented SUVs, its single-variant strategy and generous specification give it a clear identity of its own.

At RM156,800, the Jetour T2 Malaysia launch gives buyers a new option that is neither a soft family crossover nor a stripped-out off-roader. Instead, it tries to sit in the middle, with enough comfort and tech for everyday use, enough space for family duties, and enough visual toughness to feel special in a crowded SUV market.

With its 2.0-litre turbo engine, AWD system, 15.6-inch infotainment display, Sony 12-speaker audio system, panoramic sunroof and ADAS Level 2 safety suite, the Jetour T2 arrives in Malaysia as a well-equipped and highly distinctive new entrant in the growing rugged SUV segment.
