Lamborghini is Equipped with Naturally-Aspirated Engines
KUALA LUMPUR: Mostly car manufacturers have decided to use turbocharged engines, but Lamborghini doesn't want to change and decided to stick to its roots by using naturally-aspirated engines. According to Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, the non-force induction engines of Lambo works better.
He further added and told Autoblog, “Naturally-aspirated engines are still the best engines for super sports cars, in terms of acceleration, in terms of sound and unless there is something better, we are going to keep them”.
He was also not denying about the chances that the turbocharged Lamborghini supercar might come on the road. According to him, these plans are not appropriate for their Huracan and Aventador models. He further said, “There would be a day when we think that turbo can be better than naturally-aspirated. And that day, we will step into it”.
Currently, the Huracan sports car has a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine with 610 hp and 560 Nm, on the other hand, the Aventador sports has a bigger 6.5-litre V12 that has a huge 700 hp and 690 Nm of torque, which is in standard form and 750 hp in Superveloce guise.
The Italian-made Lamborghini Urus, might be planning to prepare a separate path of its two-door cousins, as based on common perception that the Bentley Continental GT's 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 might be the engine to be installed in the forthcoming SUV.
