Lamborghini Urus launched In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: In its latest bid to expand its reach in under-utilized markets, Lamborghini has recently launched the Urus SUV in Malaysia. In recent years, the market for luxury vehicles has seen an upward growth trend in South-East Asian Markets, especially in its demand for SUVs.

With the launch of its new SUV, Urus, last year in Italy, Lamborghini aims to cater to the young professionals and entrepreneurs in new markets. It has set a sales target of 20 units in Malaysia this year.

The newly launched SUV, Urus, boasts some state-of-the-art design features coupled with impressive performance benchmarks. Urus is powered by front-mounted, 4.0-litre petrol V8 twin-turbo aluminum engine with a maximum power output at 650 hp at 6,000 rpm and a top speed of 305kmph. In terms of design, Urus is said to be lighter than its competitors and uses carbon fiber reinforced polymer in its structural design.

The Asia-Pacific general manager of Lamborghini, Andrea Baldi has stated that the response to the new SUV has been phenomenally positive from the Malaysian customers. Since the bookings opened in last December, the Company has already booked more than 15 units so far.

Baldi further added that the Company aims to sell 20 luxury SUVs this year in Malaysia. Owing to Urus’ impressive design quality as well as enhanced performance including multiple driving modes (street, track, dirt, road, and snow), the SUV would be a game-changer in not only Malaysia but also in other emerging markets in the luxury SUV segment.

The new SUV will be available from Lamborghini’s exclusive dealership in Kuala Lumpur and will be imported from its manufacturing facility in Italy. COO of Lamborghini, Marcus Chyle added that meeting the demand for Urus SUVs in Malaysia would be a challenge for the Company.

Urus has been priced at RM 1 million (ex-showroom, insurance, and road tax not included). In this price segment, Urus will be a great choice for luxury SUV customers in Malaysia.
