Limited-edition Leapmotor C10 teased ahead of launch in Germany

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese EV manufacturer Leapmotor has teased a limited-edition version of the C10 SUV, called the Leapmotor i C10. Set to launch in Germany later this year, the Leapmotor i C10 is a high-performance version of the electric SUV and will be offered in a limited quantity of 250 units. 

The performance EV is made in collaboration with German vehicle customisation expert Irmscher, founded in 1968. The design house has customised over 550,000 vehicles and has a long partnership with Stellantis.

As per the partially camouflaged teaser images, the limited-edition C10 is expected to get the following unique design elements -

• Large five-spoke sport wheels
• Red accent strips on the lower bumper
• New illuminated logo
• Fixed rear spoiler

AWD system 

The Leapmotor i C10 is set to introduce 800-volt technology in the European market with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The AWD setup generates an impressive power of 585 hp, enabling the EV to hit the century sprint in under 4.0 seconds. 

This mighty drivetrain is paired with an 81.9 kWh LFP battery pack that supports fast charging, offering 30% to 80% SoC in 22 minutes.

The standard C10, on the other hand, comes powered by a rear-drive electric motor in Malaysia, which is good for making 218 PS and 320 Nm. The RWD motor is fed by a 69.9 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack, offering a cruising range of 424 km on a single charge. 

Further images, technical details, and pricing for the Leapmotor i C10  EV are expected to be released closer to its launch.
