Malaysia leads MG Cyberster sales in Asia and Oceania with over 90 orders

KUALA LUMPUR: Launched at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show, the MG Cyberster has garnered much attention and love from Malaysian buyers. In fact, Malaysia has become the No.1 best-selling market for the globally acclaimed electric roadster across the Asia and Oceania regions.

MG Motor Malaysia has bagged over 90 orders of the EV in just a few months, which is quite impressive. 

“This achievement marks a powerful milestone in MG’s journey in Malaysia. It reflects not only the growing strength of the brand and its expanding customer base but also the emotional connection Malaysians have formed with the Cyberster, an electric sports car that dares to be different,” the company said.

MG Cyberster price and specifications

The MG Cyberster was initially launched in a sole AWD variant in Malaysia, but later on, the brand added a more affordable RWD trim to the lineup. 

The RWD trim is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor delivering a maximum power of 340 PS and a peak torque of 475 Nm. Feeding the motor is a 77 kWh battery pack, which provides a driving range of 508 km (on the WLTP cycle). 

The AWD trim, on the other hand, comes equipped with a dual motor setup good for making 544 PS and 725 Nm. The battery remains the same; however, the cruising range is 446 km on a single charge.

With the government’s current exemption on excise and import duties still in effect, the EV is priced as follows -

• MG Cyberster RWD - RM 299,990
• MG Cyberster AWD - RM 319,900
