Mazda MX-5 Drop-Head Coupé Concept coming at 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon

KUALA LUMPUR: The Tokyo Auto Salon 2019 is slated to take place from January 11 to 13. This event is a very popular aftermarket trade show and has many companies showing its prowess in this field. And among the many models to be put up on show, Hiroshima will be coming up with the new Mazda 3 sedan, along with MX-5 Drop-Head Coupé Concept.

This would be the first time that the Mazda 3 would be showcased in Japan and will have the same name as the other markets. However, the main fact of the matter is the MX-5 Coupe Concept.

This MX-5 Drop-Head Coupé Concept will be having some distinctive features on the outside, like a removable carbon-fibre hardtop instead of the foldable Targa top from the MX-5 RF. Certain other physical accessories of the coupe are the towing hooks at the front and rear, 16-inch wheels (Rays forged alloys), and a special body kit. Inside the cabin, it gets bucket seats from Recaro and aluminium pedals down below.

Apart from these, the custom style Mazda 3 sedan, CX-8 and CX-5 would also be on display. Starting with the Mazda 3, it would be getting an aero kit that will have some accessories along with an option of BBS-forged 18-inch alloy wheels. Besides this, there will also be scuff plates for the door sills and sports pedals.

The CX-5, on the other hand, will get an accessory kit addition, albeit in its body color. Besides this, illuminated scuff plates, deodorising floor mats, and aluminium pedals will also be offered. These interior additions will be given for the CX-8 as well, along with 20-inch wheels and skid plates for the front and rear.
