Mercedes-Benz Malaysia teases V177 A-Class Sedan

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has started teasing the V177 A-Class Sedan via a short video. The video is posted on a social network platform through MBM’s official handle, which in turn suggests its impending launch. The video only reveals the outfit of the car while revealing nothing about the interior and the engine options.

V177 A-Class Sedan was unveiled globally in July last year, and more details of the vehicle were released by the automaker two months later. This sedan offers a bit more boot space than the W177 A-Class Hatchback. To recall, the W177 A-Class was launched in October 2018.

The video that surfaced on the internet starts with a macro look of the LED taillights that contain an arrow-shaped light strip. One part of the taillights resides on the boot lid, and the other part intrudes into the rear end of the side profile. The matte finished rear bumper follows at the bottom that integrates the exhaust outlets. The clip then swiftly move towards the side profile, which has nothing much to mention about. At last, one can notice the quarter panel sharing contours with the LED headlights. The headlights feature an L-shaped daytime running lights along its edges.

The teaser video comes with a message that says “Just perfect. Just like you. Stay tuned” along with the hashtag ‘MYNewAClass’. All these explicitly hint towards the V177 A-Class Sedan’s imminent launch in the country.

No information is available about the interior and its powertrain components. However, the available A-Class Sedan has the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), which is integrated with the infotainment system. This allows the driver to control the infotainment system with gestures and voice commands (Hey Mercedes!). The system feeds on user input and has the ability to learn the driver's habits.

Moreover, it is expected that the upcoming sedan will feature petrol engines. In the existing model that was unveiled in July last year, the mechanical configuration reads a 1.33-litre M282 four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces a maximum power of 161 hp at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 250 Nm at 1,620 rpm.
