Ora Good Cat EV to be presented to the ministry for evaluation

KUALA LUMPUR: GWM Malaysia has presented the Ora Good Cat to the International Trade and Industry Ministry. Why? For evaluation purposes.

The ministry was presented with the model's flagship variant, the Good Cat 500 Ultra. The car was handed over to Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, the ministry’s secretary-general by Elliot Zhang, GWM’s president for the ASEAN region.

How does the ministry plan to test the EV? Over the course of a few months, the Ora Good Cat 500 Ultra would go through a series of test drives.

The Malaysia Government has announced its plan to go carbon neutral by 2054 and therefore it has been a strong supporter of GWM’s new energy solutions. The latter includes the introduction of new electric vehicles and the setting up of EV charging stations.

The automaker in its recent statement said, "GWM Malaysia is taking a proactive stance towards advancing electric vehicles and sustainable transportation solutions.

"The company has formulated a local strategy to support Malaysia's transition from fuel-energy vehicles to energy-efficient vehicles, with bigger plans to launch more hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel-cell electric vehicles in the market.

"This strategy shows that GWM Malaysia is dedicated to promoting eco-friendliness and contributing to a more sustainable future,"
