Porsche Taycan is touring the world for a good cause

KUALA LUMPUR: Giving back to the community is a noble thing, and auto manufacturers have done their part repeatedly. This time around, luxury automaker Porsche has started the 'Join the Porsche Ride' initiative, wherein the Taycan will tour worldwide for a good cause.

Albrecht Reimold, Board Member for Production and Logistics at Porsche AG and sponsor of the initiative, said, "As a socially responsible company, we want to play our part through the 'Join the Porsche Ride' initiative in the creation of a world worth living in, both now and in the future. Only together and across geographical boundaries can we meet the global challenges of our time. The Porsche Ride is intended to provide impetus for new projects, to promote existing programmes and to make a lasting contribution to improving living conditions."

Under the 'Join the Porsche Ride' tour, the automaker will cover 5 continents over the coming years, with its first run starting from Stuttgart and ending at Leipzig. The tour will support local education and environmental projects as per local needs and requirements. The subjects under the initiative will range from -

• Environmental protection
• Ensuring good working & living conditions
• Strengthening social cohesion

In Leipzig, the automaker's focus would be on its environmental education programme, the 'Porsche Safari'. The said programme is committed to preserving the original natural environment of Saxony (Porsche site) by implementing a sustainable grazing concept.

In 2022, a former parade ground at Porsche Leipzig was converted into a unique, natural off-road area. The area presently houses 100 Heck cattle & Exmoor ponies, 3 million honey bees, and several wild animals.

Over the past four years, the unique off-road area has been part of a discovery tour taken by families and students and an environmental educator.

The 'Joint the Porsche Ride' tour will run for at least two years with its prime focus on empowering young individuals. The tour's upcoming stops include Switzerland, France, and China.
