Pre-book all-new G29 BMW Z4 at just RM 5000

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW previewed the G29 Z4 while launching the G20 3 Series in March. The brand has now started pre-booking for the former at a deposit of RM 5,000. Interestingly, G29 Z4 was previewed in the range-topping M40i variant, whereas, customers in Malaysia will be able to buy only the mid-spec sDrive30i variant for now.

The previewed M40i was equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine, which can pump out a maximum power of 335 hp and a peak torque of 500 Nm. However, the mid-spec variant, which is available for pre-booking runs on a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mill. It churns out a maximum power of 255 hp, while the peak torque sticks at 400 Nm.

The engine comes mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, which is standard across the Z4 line-up. It sends power to the rear wheels. Starting from zero, the car will hit the 100 kmph mark in just 5.4 seconds. The top speed of the car is 250 kmph.

The all-new G29 BMW Z4 is available in four exterior color options - Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Misano Blue, and Francisco Red. There will be three interior color combinations including Cognac with Black stitching, Black decor with Black stitching, and Magma Red with Black stitching.

The G29 BMW Z4 is likely to come with a lot of modern equipment like Qi Wireless Charging, LED headlights, M Sport suspension, Intelligent Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant, BMW Digital Key, Variable sport steering, etc.

The all-new G29 BMW Z4 sDrive30i is expected to be priced around RM 460k and will go on sale in around May 2019.
