PRO-NET celebrates 2 years of smart in Malaysia with owners convoy, 38 cars join Selangor drive-out
KUALA LUMPUR: Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), the local distributor for smart vehicles, marked two years of smart in Malaysia with a get-together alongside the smart Owners Club Malaysia on December 20, 2025.

A total of 38 smart EVs joined the convoy, made up of 19 units of the smart #1, 14 units of the smart #3, and five units of the smart #5, giving a snapshot of what the brand’s local line-up and owner base looks like at the two-year mark.
“The past two years have been an exciting journey for smart in Malaysia,” said Mr. Sua Chek Hoong, Chief Information Officer of PRO-NET and Head of smart Business Unit. “This drive is a celebration of our owners, their enthusiasm, and the camaraderie we’ve built together, proving that smart is just more than a car.”
PRO-NET said it intends to keep growing the smart range here, while continuing to build on the owner community that has formed since the brand’s Malaysian debut in 2023.
For customers looking to find out more about the smart #5, PRO-NET said information is available via authorised smart dealers, as well as through the Hello smart app and smart’s Malaysia website.
The smart #5 is smart Malaysia’s biggest and most “proper family SUV” move yet, offered in two variants, Premium (RM199,800) and BRABUS (RM249,800), both OTR without insurance. Early adopters, the first 300 registered owners, get a free wallbox, V2L adaptor, 3-year data plan, and RM2,000 accessories pack.
Mechanically, it’s built around a 100 kWh battery with 800V architecture, enabling very fast DC charging, claimed 10–80% in about 15 minutes on a 400 kW charger. Range is up to 590 km WLTP for the RWD Premium (363 PS), while the AWD BRABUS goes for performance with 645 PS, 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and 540 km WLTP.
It’s loaded inside, two 13-inch AMOLED screens plus a 10.25-inch cluster and AR HUD, a 20-speaker Sennheiser Dolby Atmos audio system, big cargo capacity (up to 1,530 L) and a frunk (72 L Premium, 47 L BRABUS). Comfort and “lifestyle” features include rear-seat 1-button lounge mode, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, camping mode, V2L, plus off-road drive modes (Sand, Mud, Snow, Rock) alongside the usual ADAS, 360° camera, and auto-park. Warranty coverage is strong too, with long battery and high-voltage component coverage plus roadside assistance.
