Proton delivers customized X70 to Tengku Sulaiman

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian automaker has customized the new X70 to deliver to HH Tengku Sulaiman Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj who is the brother of Sultan of Selangor, HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, as covered by an auto publication Paultan. The company has made alternations on the outside as well as inside making it different from the stock models on offer for general people. This is not the first time Tengku Sulaiman has received a customized vehicle. In 2016, a customised Proton Perdana 2.4-litre was delivered.

On the outside, the customized X70 gets an exclusive blue paint job, chrome-garnished front bumper and side sills, additional LED strips and newly-designed wheels with fresh polish that are shod with the same tyres of size 225/55 R19. The stock wheels also measure 19 inches in diameter, while the colours, otherwise, available include Flame Red, Cinnamon Brown, Armour Silver, Jet Grey, and Snow White.

Inside, the X70 gets blue highlights on the grey-finished leather seats, a light grey headliner, wooden centre console, door inserts, and rear tray tables.

This is the same theme as on the previously-customized Proton Perdana. And like the Perdana, the new X70 also gets a multimedia player installed on the back of each front headrest.

Under the hood, there is no change and the customized X70 continues to get power from a 1.8-litre turbocharged, direct-injection, four-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of generating a max power of 183 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 285 Nm between a range of 1,700 and 4,400 rpm. The power is transferred to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission system.
