Ready, Set, Roar! Proton X50 theme song gets Chinese version
KUALA LUMPUR: The Proton X50 is Malaysia’s most popular B-segment SUV, enjoying great sales momentum since its first launch in 2020. Proton has now launched the Chinese (Mandarin) version of the X50 theme song - “Ready, Set, Roar”, which made its debut in July.

The X50 attracts a younger, urban buyer group who connect with music and pop culture, and the catchy theme song fits perfectly with their vibe. The original version was composed in Bahasa Melayu and English, with popular singing group De Fam providing the vocals and performing in the music video.

"Since its official launch on 24 July, the Proton X50 has developed a very strong following thanks to its product features as well as the popularity of its theme song. Cumulatively, it already has 3.1 million views across multiple platforms, and following the announcement of our Roar To Fame lip-sync and dance contest, PROTON now presents a Mandarin version, inviting more Malaysians to get rewarded while discovering the undisputed king for B-segment SUVs,” said Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Proton Edar.
More campaigns planned to boost sales

- The Roar of Amazement Tour, started in West Malaysia, is now in East Malaysia with stops at major centres in Sarawak and Sabah every weekend.
- Collaborations with partner brands to strengthen the SUV’s product positioning.
- Continued use of social media content creators at a corporate, outlet, and influencer level.
“The launch of the Proton X50 marked a new approach for launching, marketing and selling Proton models, and is also the beginning of a period PROTON will launch several new models, organize a technology showcase, and centralise all production activities at our plant in Tanjong Malim,” added Zhang Qiang.
