Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R launched in Malaysia - priced at RM300,000

Kuala Lumpur: The French car conglomerate has finally revealed its limited edition Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R into the Malaysian markets. This all new rally look car is crafted for the true Renault Sports enthusiasts, and feature the latest sporty exteriors and interiors. Renault has tried it best to shell out extra steel from the earlier Megane S and made it 100 Kg lighter making it a strict two-seater, without any rear seats!

The all new Megane RS Trophy- R is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine which produces 10 hp more than the RS 265, hence justifying the RS 275 Trophy-R name. Although the torque on both stays the same, measuring 360 Nm. The car sprints to 100 Km/h from standstill in just 5.8 seconds which is also 0.2 seconds quicker than the RS 265. The torque is distributed over the wheels using Renault's six-speed manual transmission coupled with a special titanium Akrapovic exhaust system.

Coming over the exteriors, the Trophy-R is moulded into two-toned Pearlescent White paint with an Etoile black roof forming a red F1-style splitter silhouette. The car is also having red stripes on the sides. Megane RS features Trophy-R plates on the door sills too, along with a single-piece Recaro Pole Position leather/Alcantara bucket seats. The car has no rear seats which are replaced by a red cross strut bar and cargo netting.
To provide the more sporty looks, the car is loaded with Öhlins Road & Track one-way adjustable dampers with Allevard composite springs. Megane RS 275 is anchored to ground owing to its 19-inch Speedline Turini alloys which are rubber wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2 tyres.

The car is also fitted as standard in Malaysia with a Nurburgring Pack, including a Performance braking kit. This kit is loaded with discs of 350 mm, which is 10 mm larger than the usual. There is also a lithium-ion battery, 16 kg lighter than the standard item, is also included.
According to the sources, Renault is set to produce only 10 units of the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R into Malaysia and will be priced at RM300,000. But, sadly all the units are sold by now, so better luck next time.
