This special-edition Porsche Taycan GTS pays homage to a race track

KUALA LUMPUR: The car you see in the above images celebrates the 90th anniversary of the famous Hockenheimring race track. Called the Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition, it is the first time the electric performance Porsche is getting a special edition model.

Key features of the special-edition Porsche Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition model -

• The car is covered with a unique paint called Stone Grey along with Bronzite accents (seen on the rear badge, rear diffuser, and side sill trim). Both were developed by automaker’s Paint To Sample colour programme
• The car runs on massive 21-inch Mission E wheels that are also sprayed with the stunning Stone Grey hue
• The cabin benefits from several intricate details like black leather interior & floor mats with contrast Island Green stitching
• The selector lever, air vents(driver & passenger side), and cup holders are sprayed in Bronzite tone
• It gets decorative open-pore Paldo wood trim inside
• One of the main highlights on the inside is the beautifully embossed Hockenheimring anniversary logo on the centre console armrest

What is the benefit of owning this special edition Porsche Taycan?

Exclusive access to the Hockenheimring race circuit will be given to the owners of this special edition Taycan. All they got to do is show their car’s key that was printed with the anniversary logo and will give them access to drive directly to the Porsche Experience Centre located inside the track.

First special-edition Taycan powertrain details

Powering the special edition Taycan is the same mill that powers the regular model. So, a 93.4 kmph battery drives two e-motors (one located at each axle). It generates a max power of 598 hp along with a peak torque of 849 Nm. The car completes the century sprint in just 3.5 seconds.

The Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition price is not yet revealed. As for its availability, it will be only offered in Germany and a few European markets.
