UMW Toyota starts 2025 with strong sales & customer-centric innovations

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota sold a total of 127,202 units in Malaysia last year, remaining the country's top non-national brand. Ready to keep growing this year as well, the Japanese automaker closed the first month of 2025 with a total sales of 5,383 units.

Last month, UMW Toyota revealed the all-new 2025 GR Corolla, 2025 GR Yaris, and 2025 Corolla GR Sport at the TGR Season 7 closing ceremony. All these models are designed to deliver thrilling and race-inspired performance along with everyday practicality to owners. It highlights the brand’s continuous focus on performance innovation and reaffirms its leadership in creating vehicles that excite and inspire drivers globally.

The key highlights of the updated Toyota GR models are as follows -

• The all-new 2025 Toyota Corolla GR Sport benefits from a new 10-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic CVT gearbox, styling enhancements, a larger screen with wireless smartphone integration and upgraded upholstery and stitching for 2025. The price tag reads RM 149,800.

• The 2025 Toyota GR Corolla features a retuned 1.6-litre turbo engine, improved handling with GR-Four AWD, and cosmetic enhancements inside and out. It is priced at RM 367,000.
• The Toyota GR Yaris also received significant upgrades for 2025, including an upgraded design, enhanced suspension, increased engine output, a new Cooling Package, and a driver-focused cockpit. It now retails for RM 315,600. 

The demand for high-performance yet practical cars has been growing, and the GR brand (Toyota’s performance division) is gaining momentum. Cars like the GR Corolla and GR Yaris offer an exciting ride experience with sharp handling and agility, attracting both driving enthusiasts and everyday customers.
