The breakdown: there's a RM20,000 cash rebate, insurance support of up to RM10,000, a home charging wallbox (valued at RM5,000), and corporate fleet privileges worth RM10,000 for eligible companies or qualified professionals, the last of which is subject to verification.

The programme runs until 30 June 2026, subject to availability and T&Cs.

    What is the XPENG X9?

For context, the X9 is XPENG Malaysia's flagship model, a full-size seven-seater electric MPV sitting in the same segment as the Toyota Alphard and Denza D9. Prices for the 2025 model year start from RM270,708 on-the-road without insurance, with three variants available in Malaysia.

It's a big car in every sense. The X9 measures 5,293 mm long, 1,988 mm wide and 1,785 mm tall, with a 3,160 mm wheelbase, which puts it ahead of its key rivals in terms of sheer footprint.

The exterior takes a noticeably different direction compared to most premium MPVs, with a sharply raked windscreen and what XPENG calls a "Galaxy Light Wing" full-width DRL up front. The body achieves a drag coefficient of 0.236 Cd, which is genuinely impressive for something this size.

    Cabin and practicality

Inside, the X9 is built around flexibility. The second row slides further than most competitors, third-row access is one-touch, and the rear seats fold electrically to open up a claimed 2,554 litres of cargo space. A dual-chamber air suspension system handles ride quality, and the climate system distributes airflow independently across all three rows.

The tech side is hard to ignore. There's a 17.3-inch central touchscreen up front alongside a 21.4-inch passenger entertainment screen in the second row, both running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295P chip and XPENG's XOS operating system.

    EV specs and charging

The X9 runs on an 800V silicon carbide architecture, which means faster charging than most EVs currently on sale in Malaysia. XPENG says a 10% to 80% top-up takes under 20 minutes, which would be genuinely useful on longer road trips.

Standard safety kit includes six airbags, and the ADAS suite is powered by NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-X processors, backed by three millimetre-wave radar units, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 12 cameras. Rear-wheel steering is also standard, bringing the turning radius down to 5.4 metres despite the X9's considerable length.

Is the MEGA X9 REWARDS programme worth it?

The effective discount works out well on paper. A RM20,000 cash rebate alone already takes the entry-level variant closer to the RM250k mark before factoring in the insurance support and free wallbox.

For buyers who were already considering the X9, getting the home charger included removes one of the common post-purchase costs for EV ownership in Malaysia.

The corporate fleet component is a bit more conditional, so interested business buyers would want to confirm eligibility directly with XPENG Malaysia before counting on that RM10,000.

The programme ends 30 June 2026. Interested buyers can reach out to XPENG Malaysia or Bermaz XPENG showrooms for more details.
