Zeekr 7X Beyond Drive Experience held in Malaysia, highlighting EV’s off-road capabilities

KUALA LUMPUR: Zeekr Malaysia has recently organised a one-of-a-kind drive experience event, named Zeekr 7X Beyond Drive Experience, at Sepang to showcase the EV’s performance, control, comfort, and versatility beyond everyday city driving.

The two-day multi-terrain program was held at Sepang Bay 13 Off-Road Ranch on January 23–24, 2026. It was attended by Zeekr owners and members of the media, who experienced the automaker’s premium electric SUV in a variety of driving conditions. 

Designed to showcase the Zeekr 7X’s advanced air suspension systems, off-road capabilities, and high-performance EV engineering, the event featured several driving activities. All were conducted under the supervision of a qualified team of professional driving instructors with a proven track record in performance and off-road driving programs. 

Zeekr 7X Beyond Drive Experience - Key highlights

Technology & capability showcase	The event featured the performance of the following unique features across rough terrains, demonstrating the EV’s stability, ride comfort, handling, and system responsiveness - Zeekr Magic Carpet Suspension Distributed Traction Control System Hill Descent Control
On-road driving activities	Participants enjoyed defensive and dynamic on-road driving via a slalom course, which showcased the EV’s steering precision, agility, and chassis balance.
Rally Experience Taxi Ride	It showcased the EV’s traction and vehicle stability on loose surfaces through a 1.5 km high-speed high-speed off-road route (with up to 120 kmph). Participants had the opportunity to ride this along with a  professional rally driver for an adrenaline-filled experience.
Obstacle Course	Under the guidance of a professional instructor, participants attempted multiple driving obstacles, including the Side Slope, Steep Hill Climb & Descent, Elephant Steps, and Water Wading and experienced the EV’s off-road capabilities.
Adventure Trail	Participants experienced the EV’s ride comfort and composure even across uneven terrains on a 1.6-kilometre off-road route

“The Zeekr 7X was designed for real driving situations. Over the past two days, this off-road drive experience really allowed participants to feel how the vehicle performs in different environments. From the Defensive On-Road Driving and Off-Road Obstacle Courses to the  Steep Hill Climb & Descent and Off-Road terrains, the 7X was truly pushed beyond its limits of everyday driving experiences,” said Eddy Lu, General Manager of Zeekr Intelligent Technology  Malaysia. 

“We were genuinely surprised by how the Zeekr 7X performed when driven off-road. None of us expected an electric SUV to be able to handle water-wading, steep jungle-like terrains, and rugged obstacles so confidently. The best part is the car still drove as smoothly as ever afterwards. Experiencing what the Zeekr 7X can really do has made us even more aware of what the car is capable of, and we can’t wait to further explore the limits of the Zeekr 7X  ourselves,” said Mr. Rukmanikanthan a/l Shanmugam, a Zeekr 7X owner who attended the drive event. 

Zeekr 7X: Price and specifications

Launched in August last year, the Zeekr 7X is a mid-sized electric SUV, featuring an 800-volt electrical architecture, a sleek and futuristic design and a well-equipped cabin.
