2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is coming to KLIMS 2018
KUALA LUMPUR: Resembling the Kona, 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe in its fourth generation is better than ever. Already on-sale in different markets worldwide, the updated SUV by the South Korean manufacturer will finally hit the Malaysian shores at KLIMS 2018. Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, that will run from 23 November to 2 December will set the stage for the arrival of the latest version of the 7-seater.

At the front, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe takes its designing cues from the Kona. The front fascia includes a large cascading grille, slim LED DRLs, and low positioned LED projector headlamps. All the new elements provide the Santa Fe with a sturdy yet appealing look. Move to the side, and one can miss the bold shoulder line that flows from the headlamps at the front all the way to the taillights at the rear. With a new design, the LED taillights with C-shaped checkered graphics can be seen at the rear. Turn indicators and reverse light are placed separately at the bottom just above the rear bumper.

Move inside and you see more of Kona in the 2019 Santa Fe. Present are features like a 7-inch standing touchscreen, slimmer air-vents, dual-zone climate control, and Qi wireless charging. The comfort level is also better than before as the legroom is now increased thanks to a longer wheelbase. The new wheelbase measures at 2,765 mm, which is 65 mm more than the outgoing model. Headroom in the third row is up by 22 mm, and the legroom in the second row has been increased by 38 mm as well.

In Malaysia, the new Santa Fe is expected to come with the 2.2-litre turbodiesel motor that produces 203 PS and 434 Nm of peak torque and the 2.4-litre MPI petrol engine. However, the 2019 Santa Fe offers as many as 6 engine options worldwide. A 2.0-litre T-GDI petrol turbo, a 2.0-litre GDI, a 2.4-litre MPI, and a 3.3-litre MPI are the petrol-fed motors along with the 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre CRDi diesel options. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic unit on the all the motors.

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe also features HTRAC, a 4x4 driving system by Hyundai. This technology distributes variable torque depending on the driving mode. The driving modes offered are Eco, Normal, Sport and Smart. In terms of safety, the SUV includes 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Occupant Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Speed Limit Info Function, and Safety Exit Assist.
