2020 Honda Civic - What’s in stock?
The tenth-generation Honda Civic came into existence in 2016, and while it has been here for almost four years, a facelifted version is already in pipeline. Honda has started accepting bookings for the 2020 Honda Civic across authorized dealerships, and the official launch is expected to take place during the first quarter.
As for changes, the C-segment sedan will receive an array of styling tweaks on the outside and inside. The equipment list will also see new additions, albeit the sedan will continue to source power from the same 1.8-litre and 1.5-litre units that are offered with the current model. Belonging to the Honda Clan, the Civic is an absolute stunner which shuns the onlookers with its sharp premium looks.
In the segment, the premium sedan clashes with Toyota Corolla, currently available in its 12th gen in Malay market, Mazda 3 sedan and Proton Perdana, both of which are equally popular in the segment. As for the updated Civic, it is expected to outdo the existing version on several fronts and emerge a strong contender amid popular rivals in the segment. While Honda is yet to draw curtains off the new Civic, let us take you through available details, expected price and specs sheet.

Slight tweaks are visible on the lower bumper featuring wider black trims near the fog lamp housings. The changes have been extended to the rear, which now sports a tailgate spoiler and garnishing on the bumper. While the talking point at the flanks will be the chunky 18-inch alloy wheels sporting “fan design”.
On the inside, the five-seat cabin offers ample space to the occupants. At 519-litre, the cargo space has enough volume to store luggage. While the interior will not witness vital styling changes, Honda could add a few additional goodies. As for connectivity, the large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and other bits will be carried over from the pre-update version. Also, the automatic climate control, power adjusting seats, etc. will remain on offer.
2020 Honda Civic safety
Akin to other Honda cars, expect the Civic facelift to benefit from Honda Sensing package, along with the anti-lock-braking system, emergency brake-force distribution and brake assist, vehicle stability control assist, emergency stop signal and hill start assist from the current version. The Honda Sensing safety suite offers a bunch of driver assistance features including lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist system, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, low sped follow, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation braking system.
2020 Honda Civic competitors
The Honda Civic faces off with other popular C-segment sedans such as Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3 Sedan and Hyundai Elantra among others.
Which car is better Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla?
Visually, both models look sporty, though looks are subjective, hence we keep this to you, which one you like more. As for features, the new Corolla improves over its previous version benefitting from wireless phone charging, vehicle telematics system, 3D panoramic view monitor and rear digital video recorder and several others. However, it misses out on advanced safety tech available with Honda Civic. Out of the two models, the Corolla base variant is priced RM 20,000 more than Civic’s entry-level grade, while the range-topping Civic costs slightly more. Overall, both models have their own charm, though if you give more prominence to modern features, Honda Civic should be your pick.
