2020 Jaguar XE launched in Malaysia; price starts at RM 395,831

KUALA LUMPUR: With impressive upgrades and advanced technologies, the all-new Jaguar XE has officially arrived on the Malaysian shores after a long wait. Unveiled in February last year, the facelifted sedan redefines style and efficiency through a sportier feel, enhanced exterior, and an all new-luxurious interior.

Jaguar offers the new XE in a single R-Dynamic trim with a starting price of RM 395,831 (including 50% sales tax exemption and excluding road tax and insurance).

On the exterior, the new XE appears broader and lower than the outgoing model, thanks to larger front apertures, bold graphics, and muscular forms adding to the performance and aerodynamics. The exterior design is further complemented by sporty design elements, like aircraft winglet-inspired sculpted surfaces, dark mesh detailing to the rear valance, and new 18-inch wheels. 

The 2020 Jaguar XE gets new LED headlights featuring a 'J' blade daytime running light signature, and all-new LED taillights with redesigned signature graphics that accentuate the car's visual width.

The feature-packed XE cabin boasts a Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with two high-resolution touchscreens - a 10-inch display for infotainment, navigation, and media and a 5.5-inch lower unit for dual-tasking and climate control accessibility. 

The automaker also equipped the model with Artificial Intelligence technology. Its smart settings can recognize and learn the preferences of drivers and automatically adjust the things according to their preferred positions. Other updates include a 12.3-inch interactive driver display instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, and driver condition monitoring system.

Coming to the mechanical bits, XE is powered by a 2.0-litre Ingenium engine producing 300 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,500 to 4,500 rpm. It is coupled with a ZF 8HP45 eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. It reaches 100 kmph in only 5.9 seconds and peaks at a top speed of 250 kmph.

The luxury sedan comes with a Jaguar Care programme, including a five-year warranty, five-year free service package, and three years of roadside assistance. Interested customers can now visit their preferred Jaguar Land Rover showroom to check the new XE in personal or can also book a test drive.
