Bold, future-focused design
The upgraded pickup truck is based on a “Tough and Agile” theme, lending the vehicle a powerful front end featuring a one-piece grille and new aggressive headlight units connected by a central bar which carries the ‘Toyota’ wordmark in classic style. It also benefits from new C-shaped LED tail lights, redesigned side steps, and a new rear deck step for easy access.
The Hilux Electric, on the other hand, features new alloy wheels and aero treatment that replaces the traditional grille.
Smart, safe, and connected cabin
The new-generation Hilux comes with an all-around elevation in sensory quality, inspired by the Land Cruiser. The dashboard has a horizontal layout, incorporating a 12.3-inch infotainment unit supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch customisable driver console. All the all-wheel drive and off-road controls are centrally grouped for ease of operation and with the BEV model also comes a single-action shift-by-wire drive selector.
The pickup is equipped with an electric parking brake (with auto brake hold), a wireless device charging pad and new rear USB ports. Owners can access remote and connected services using the MyToyota app, which will be convenient for both private and business/fleet customers.
The new Hilux also gets the electric power steering, offering more direct operation, easier manoeuvrability and less risk of kick-back when driving over uneven ground.
As for advanced safety, it features the enhanced Toyota T-Mate advanced safety and driving assistance pack with new and upgraded functions such as Low Speed Acceleration Suppression, Proactive Driving Assist, an Emergency Driving Stop System, a Blind Spot Monitor, Safe Exit Assist and a Driver Monitor Camera.
Retuned suspension and off-road drive modes
Developed through a close partnership between engineering teams in Thailand and Australia, the new Hilux underpins the same IMV ladder-frame platform as before and retains the same core body structure. However, the suspension setup has been retuned; it now utilises a classic coil-sprung at the front and leaf springs rear, mated to Electric Power Steering for confident and comfortable driving.
Adding to the off-road capability is a Multi-Terrain Select system that adapts to soil, mud, rocks, sand, and snowy conditions.
BEV and ICE drivetrains on offer
The new Hilux also reflects Toyota’s multi-pathway approach toward carbon neutrality, and is offered in both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) to suit different market environments and customer lifestyles.
Toyota Thailand offers the latest version in a total of 17 variants, available in Single Cab, Extended Cab, and Double Cab configurations. The powertrain specs are as follows -
