Bring home the Nissan Serena and X-Trail X-Tremer in new colors

KUALA LUMPUR: Looking for a seven-seater MPV? Want it in a standout color? No need to wander anymore as Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) if offering the Nissan Serena S-Hybrid in a brand new Imperial Red color on the occasion of the upcoming Chinese New Year. However, the new paint scheme is only available on the top of the line Premium Highway Star model of the Serena.

Similar to the X-Trail X-Tremer which was unleashed in the month of February last year, the new paint scheme on the Serena is a dual-tone one. With the whole car dipped in Imperial Red, there are a few black elements like the roof, side mirrors, and rear spoiler. Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has also made available the SUV X-Trail X-Tremer in two new finishes. Called Brilliant White and Tungsten Silver, the new finishes cover the whole of the SUV except the black body parts like the roof, roof rails, rear spoiler, side mirrors, and the 17-inch alloys.

Barring the new color options, the Nissan Serena and the X-Trail X-Tremer have received no mechanical updates what so ever. Under the hood of the Serena is an MR20DD 2.0-litre direct-injected 4-pot petrol engine good enough for 150 PS and 200 Nm. This mill is mated to an Xtronic CVT. As we know that the Nissan Serena is a hybrid, it also features an ECO electric motor that can produce 2.6 PS and 48 Nm. The Nissan Serena Premium Highway Star variant which gets the new color has on offer features like 16-inch wheels, LED headlamps, a Clarion head unit with a 6.75-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery in either black or two-tone Truffle Brown and Chestnut, rear air-conditioning controls, single-zone auto climate control, a 10.1-inch roof-mounted LCD rear display, and keyless entry & start.

The X-Trail X-Tremer, on the other hand, comes with two different engine options, 2.0-litre producing 144 PS of power and 200 Nm of peak torque and a larger 2.5-litre which can churn out 171 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 233 Nm. An Xtronic CVT is found on both the smaller and the larger engines, however, only the latter gets the Nissan’s All Mode Intelligent 4X4-i system. Luxurious Nappa leather seats, front X-Face cladding, and a chrome rear bumper protector are also present on the X-Trail.
