Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza takes home the first GWM WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV

KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motors Malaysia has recently handed over the first locally assembled WEY G9 MPV to national icon Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza during an official ceremony held at the company’s USJ showroom.

Marking the brand’s entry into the premium MPV space, the GWM Wey G9 was launched in January this year, with Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza announced as its official brand ambassador. 

While receiving the electrified MPV, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza said, “The WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV feels perfectly in tune with my everyday life. Its comfort, spaciousness, and thoughtful design make every journey more relaxed and enjoyable. 2026 WEY G9: Key highlights

• Designed to support both modern family life and professional commitments, the WEY G9 is a refined and intelligent MPV that costs RM 269,800 (on-the-road without insurance).
• Locally assembled at the EP Manufacturing Bhd plant in Melaka, the vehicle is powered by an advanced Hybrid Intelligent 4WD (Hi4) system that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors. 
• The system generates a maximum power of 442 PS and a peak torque of 642 Nm, enabling the vehicle to run from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 190 kmph.
• Feeding the electric setup is a 44.2 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery, which offers a pure EV range of 170 km. The combined driving range is rated over 1,000 km (NEDC).
• Key features include - Intelligent LED headlights, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.6-inch infotainment unit, head-up display, wireless charging pad, 3-zone climate control with rear controls, 21-speaker Amor sound system, power-adjustable seats, 12.5-litre built-in refrigerator, 64-colour ambient lighting system and ADAS systems.
