GWM TANK 500 HEV set for launch at MAS 2025, promotions announced

KUALA LUMPUR: GWM Malaysia is set to officially introduce the TANK 500 HEV at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2025, happening on 9th May.

This new luxury off-road hybrid SUV, which has already made a couple of official appearances in Malaysia aims to compete in its segment by combining performance, hybrid technology, and premium features.

According to Mr. Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, the launch represents a significant moment for the brand locally. He stated, "The launch of the GWM TANK 500 HEV marks an exciting milestone for GWM in Malaysia. Visitors to the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 can look forward to experiencing GWM’s leadership in advanced hybrid technology, premium design, and all-terrain capability. We are proud to introduce a new standard of driving excellence to Malaysian customers with this all-terrain luxury hybrid SUV."

Pre-orders for the TANK 500 HEV started on 14 April 2025 and have already received positive response. The SUV features a 2.0-litre turbocharged hybrid engine coupled with a 9-speed hybrid automatic gearbox, producing a total output of 255 kW (346 PS) and 648 Nm of torque.

It also includes an intelligent four-wheel-drive system with features such as M-Lock, 11 driving modes for different terrains, TANK Turn Assist, Off-road Cruise Control, and Transparent Chassis View.

The vehicle seats seven passengers, includes NAPPA leather seating and an Infinity audio system. Pricing is expected to be under RM350,000.

Alongside this launch, GWM Malaysia announced several promotions for May 2025:

• For the GWM TANK 300, buyers will receive five years of free service and entry into a promotional campaign that could win them RM8,888 travel vouchers or a grand prize of a GWM Iron Cavalry Modification Kit. Test-drive participants can also win RM888 travel vouchers.
• The HAVAL H6 HEV comes with a five-year free service plan and an RM3,000 interest subsidy, leading to total possible savings of RM6,600.
• For electric vehicles, the ORA 07 includes savings up to RM25,000, an interest subsidy, free wallbox charger, five years of service, and an extended two-year warranty. Similarly, the ORA GOOD CAT offers up to RM20,000 savings, an interest subsidy, free wallbox charger, and five years of free service.

Additionally, teachers who book any GWM model during May and register by June 2025 will get an extra RM2,000 reward.

All models from GWM Malaysia come standard with five years of free service. All these models and offers will be available at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, starting from 8th May.
