Honda launches Modulo styling kit for CR-V in Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: After almost one year of its launch, the Honda CR-V in Japan has received a new styling kit, Modulo. The car is doing well in the market, while, the absence of modulo styling in Japan was the only area where it was receiving some flak.

The Modulo pack is only available in Japan as the manufacturer has not introduced the pack globally. It brings some additions on the aesthetic front, while the engine mechanism remains unchanged. The parts of the kit can also be purchased individually.

The Honda CR-V was received well in Japan after its launch last year. The SUV brought the new concept of turbocharging, a raft of new class and design, class-leading driver-assist tech and plenty of new features to ponder about.

Inside the CR-V, its cabin gets a classy design with a plenty of space. As for the seats, they offer comfortable seating, even for the long runs. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available with CD/DVD player, 4-speakers and navigation system. Audio can be controlled via the steering mounted buttons.

Speaking of the design, it gets bolder and sharper than the standard version. At the front, a chrome grille merges with the headlamps. On the sides, the high-cut wheel arches make the car stand out from the crowd.

The Honda CR-V is the first car from the manufacturer to get a 1.5L turbocharged engine. It is available in three turbo variants - 1.5L Turbocharged 2WD, 1.5L Turbocharged Premium 2WD, and 1.5L Turbocharged 4WD

Moreover, a 2.0L i-VTEC in 2WD guise is also available. All of the variants are coupled to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT), which is developed by Earth Dreams Technology. It is Honda’s proprietary technology, which helps to balance the performance and the fuel efficiency.
