What is the reason behind the recent Honda recall?
The latest Honda recall involves two cars with two separate issues. For the City Hybrid, the problem concerns an inactive ADAS camera. The model comes equipped with a Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assist features, one of which is a windscreen camera which in some modes is not functioning properly. Thus causing ADAS to be inactive while driving.

As for the Civic FE, the recall concerns incomplete welding at the slide adjuster of the driver’s seat. Honda will rectify the issue in the affected models as if left unchecked the seat may not remain in a fixed position which in turn can compromise the driver’s seat belt protection.

In its official statement, the automaker apologised to the affected customers for the inconvenience caused and even assured them that its other models are perfectly okay with no issues of any sort.

Honda Malaysia even confirmed that no misfortune even (accident or crash) took place due to the above-mentioned issues that are now being rectified via the recall.

The owners of the affected Honda cars will be informed by the automaker via letter. Upon receipt of this, the customers are required to book an appointment at their nearest Honda-authorised dealership. Inspection, repair, and replacement of the affected part are free of charge.

Honda Malaysia is even urging its customers to download and update the HondaTouch mobile app which is made for everting Honda. For instance, service booking, emergency assistance, the latest update, access to past records, real-time tracking of car service, and much more.
