Hyundai takes centre stage at Penang Autoshow 2026, opens booking for Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Motor Malaysia took the Penang Autoshow 2026 as an opportunity to announce that the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N are now officially open for bookings. The show also hosts a special preview of the Ioniq 5 N, allowing enthusiasts to get up close with this high-performance EV.  

Beginning a new era of electrified high performance in the country, the upcoming Ioniq N models represent the pinnacle of Hyundai’s performance engineering, rooted in the brand’s motorsport heritage.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N: Key highlights 

Ioniq 5 N

• The Ioniq 5 N is a track-bred, road-ready performance EV that won the World Performance Car award in 2024. 
• It is built on a track-tuned chassis and features an N-specific drivetrain setup, which generates a maximum power of 650 PS, allowing the vehicle to hit the century sprint in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 260 kmph. 
• The EV is packed with a comprehensive suite of driver-focused technologies and offers a practical WLTP range of 448 km.

Ioniq 6 N

• With the 2026 World Performance Car of the Year under its belt, the Ioniq 6 N offers a more refined dynamic character and an aggressive 650 PS output.
• Built on the aerodynamic Ioniq 6 sedan platform, the EV features exclusive hardware bits like the Swan Neck Spoiler for improved aerodynamics and an integrated Interior Action Camera Mounting for recording drives or track sessions. 
• The performance sedan runs from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and attains a top speed of 257kmph, supported by 487 km WLTP range. 

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N: Estimated pricing

The estimated price of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N starts from RM 450,000, while the Ioniq 6 N is expected to start from RM 460,000. Each booking comes with merchandise from the official Hyundai N collection worth RM 2,000. 

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N: How to book?

Bookings can be made through Hyundai N authorised dealers Sime Darby Auto Hyundai Sdn Bhd (Central), Goh Brothers Motor Sdn Bhd (Northern) and Heng Lian Enterprise Bhd (East Malaysia). More dealer locations will be revealed soon. 

Notably, the cars will be built-to-order, ensuring precision and exclusivity. So, if you want to be among the first to drive these high-performance EVs in Malaysia, be sure to book early.

Hyundai Motor Malaysia at Penang Autoshow 2026

• Hyundai Motor Malaysia is previewing its full vehicle lineup, including the Santa Fe, Tucson, and Staria, as well as the Ioniq 5 N, at the Penang Autoshow 2026 Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC) from 1–3 May 2026.
• Interested folks can participate in a test drive campaign to win a limited-edition official FIFA replica ball and redeem a Hyundai jersey. 
• Visitors can learn more about myHyundaiCare after-sales programme and advanced hybrid technology during the event. 

Hyundai Motor Malaysia has also extended its nationwide FIFA World Cup Global Test Drive Campaign up until 3rd May 2026, offering customers a final chance to win a trip for two to watch the Norway vs France FIFA World Cup 2026 match in person.
