iCAUR V25 SUV unveiled in China ahead of official debut
KUALA LUMPUR: Chery’s sub-brand iCaur is geared up to expand its lineup in China with the launch of a new rugged SUV, the V25. But ahead of the official debut, images and preliminary specifications of the model have surfaced online, thanks to MIIT (the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology).

Design
Just like its stablemates, the V25 features a distinctive boxy design with a modern closed grille and rounded headlights integrated within the squared-off fascia. At the rear, we can find vertical tail lights, a side-hinged tailgate, and an external storage box.
Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, it measures 4,636 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,855 mm in height, and spans a 2,820 mm wheelbase. For comparison, it is 416 mm longer than the V23 and 419 mm shorter than the V27. Wheel options include 19-inch or 21-inch rims wrapped in 255/55R19 or 265/45R21 tyres.
The filing further confirms that the SUV will come with an optional towing package that can lower the standard 24° departure angle to 15°, while the approach angle remains fixed at 28°. The V25 has a towing capacity of 1,800 kg.
Drivetrain and range
As per the report, the electrified SUV will come powered by a 156 PS 1.5 litre turbocharged engine, two electric motors, and a 33.68-kWh battery pack. The setup will offer a combined output of 445 PS and a pure-electric range of either 145 km or 150 km (WLTC), depending on the variant picked. The quoted fuel consumption ranges between 1.52 liters per 100 km and 1.54 litres per 100 km.
Interior and safety
While no official cabin shots are provided, the V25 is expected to borrow many of the interior features from the larger V27. However, as for safety, it is confirmed that the upcoming iCaur SUV will feature a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, using a high-computing system powered by Horizon Journey 6 chips. The ADAS pack is likely to have advanced functions like automated parking, highway navigation, and urban assisted driving.
iCaur cars in Malaysia
Launched in September last year, iCAUR has made great progress in the Malaysian market, emerging as one of the top-selling EV brands. The Chinese brand currently offers two SUVs locally - iCaur 03 CKD and iCaur V23, priced from RM 129,880 and RM 119,800, respectively.
