iCAUR 03 local assembly begins in Malaysia - iWD CKD variant starts from RM 129k

KUALA LUMPUR: Launched in September last year, iCAUR has made great progress in the Malaysian market, emerging as the country’s third-best-selling EV brand last month. Well, the Chinese brand now marked the beginning of its next phase of growth in the local NEV space by commencing local assembly for the iCAUR 03.

Introduced as a CBU model in 2025, the iCAUR 03 has quickly established its presence among Malaysian EV buyers seeking a bold and capable electric SUV.

The EV is locally assembled at the Chery Corporate Malaysia plant in Shah Alam, with the first batch of CKD units expected to arrive at iCAUR dealerships nationwide by the end of May 2026.

Mr Francis Chin, Senior Director of iCAUR Malaysia, said, “The iCAUR 03 has connected strongly with Malaysian drivers because it brings something different to the electric vehicle space. It is expressive, capable, and unmistakably iCAUR.”

“Moving into local assembly is a meaningful step for us. It brings together local pride and global technology, while allowing us to meet growing demand without changing what customers already love about the iCAUR 03. These locally assembled units retain 100% of the high-standard specifications, engineering standards, and Born To Play character that customers experienced with the CBU model,” he added.

2026 iCAUR 03 CKD: Price and specifications

• The locally assembled iCAUR 03 iWD is priced from RM 129,880 (on-the-road price without insurance). 
• It will be offered in the Intelligent All Wheel Drive (iWD) variant, retaining the same high-standard specifications as the CBU model.
• The AWD trim is powered by a dual-motor setup generating a maximum power of 279 PS and a peak torque of 385 Nm. The motors are fed by a 69.8 kWh battery, providing a driving range of up to 418 km (NEDC).
• It supports 6.6 kW AC and 80 kW DC charging, along with a 3.2 kW Vehicle-to-Load system, allowing EV owners to power compatible electronic devices and appliances.
• Based on iCAUR’s i-BOX design philosophy, the SUV features a boxy silhouette, angular surfacing, dynamic Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting, and a strong SUV stance. 
• Other key highlights include an intuitive digital cabin, robust battery protection, and advanced driver-assistance technologies.

The iCAUR 03 ownership package includes a 7kW AC Home Charger and complimentary scheduled service for two years or 45,000 km, whichever comes first.
