Indonesia gets the all-new 2022 Toyota Fortuner GR Sport

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota Indonesia has announced the new GR Sport range which will be replacing the ongoing TRD Sportivo lineup in the country. Benefiting from the new sporty, flagship variant are several models including Yaris, Fortuner, and many more. Here will be discussing the new 2022 Fortuner GR Sport model.

The Fortuner GR Sport looks sporty and comes with a body kit that enhances its appeal. Part of its exterior package are -

• Dark chrome grille
• GR stickers on the lower door section
• GR badge on the tailgate
• Different trim for the front and rear bumper
• 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 265/60R16 tyres
• Kick-sensing hands-free tailgate

Exterior hues include - Phantom Brown Metallic, Super White, Dark Grey Mica Metallic, Silver Metallic, and Attitude Black

On the inside, the Fortuner GR Sport comes loaded with several smart equipment like -

• A 9-inch multimedia head unit with voice command
• Leatherette upholstery
• Smartphone connectivity
• Near-field communication device compatibility
• Fold-down rear seat entertainment
• Surround view monitor
• Qi wireless device charging pad
• Power-adjustable front seats

Under the hood configuration includes two engine options - a 4x2 2.7 GR Sport AT and a 4x2 2.4 GR Sport AT. The former petrol unit makes a maximum power of 163 hp and a peak torque of 247 Nm. The smaller diesel option, on the other hand, pumps out 149 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota Fortuner GR Sport Price

The Fortuner GR Sport 2.7 litre petrol variant is priced at 605.1 million rupiah (around RM 177,909. The GR Sport 2.4 litre turbo diesel model, on the other hand, costs 544.2 million rupiah (approx RM 160,003).
