Jetour Dashing SUV launching soon in Malaysia: Here’s what to expect

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery-owned Jetour made its first official appearance in Malaysia at the 2024 MAS event, previewing its 5-seater model, the Jetour Dashing. Well, this striking Chinese SUV is now ready to hit the local roads.

Jetour Malaysia has begun the teaser campaign for the upcoming model with a social media post, confirming that Dashing will launch in April 2025. 

The upcoming Jetour Dashing hails from the brand’s family travel series and has gained wide recognition in various global markets. Specially designed for younger drivers, it seems to cause a stir in the growing compact SUV segment.

While the official details on the upcoming Jetour SUV are scarce, we can refer to the Indonesian market for reference as it is the first ASEAN market to receive it.

Jetour Dashing: What to expect?

Dimensions

The upcoming Dashing SUV measures 4,590 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. These dimensions put it in direct competition with the Honda CR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross.

Exterior

The SUV features a bold, futuristic design with an aggressive front grille, paired with sharp LED headlights and distinctive daytime running lights, giving it a sporty, modern appearance. 

The side profile flaunts massive wheel arches, sleek lines, and a smooth roofline while the rear end showcases full-width taillights, a sporty bumper, and an edgy windshield. 

Drivetrain 

Jetour Malaysia is likely to offer the SUV in two variants - Prime, and Signature, both powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine. Here’s a quick rundown of the expected specifications -

Safety 

As for safety, we can expect six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane change warning, lane change assist, and a 360-degree around view monitor. 

Price

While no information is yet available about the Jetour Dashing price in Malaysia, the SUV retails between IDR 408.8 million (RM 115k) and IDR 440.8 million (RM 124k) in the Indonesia market.
