Jetour T1 launched in Malaysia, priced from RM129,800

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Jetour T1 has landed in Malaysia, and it slots in as the smaller, more urban-friendly sibling to the rugged T2 that arrived earlier this year.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many Jetour T1 variants are there in Malaysia?

Two: the 1.5L TGDi 2WD and the range-topping 2.0L TGDi XWD.
  • What is the difference between the 1.5L 2WD and the 2.0L XWD?

The 2.0L XWD adds a bigger engine (245 PS and 375 Nm versus 170 PS and 270 Nm), all-wheel drive, 7+X drive modes, 19-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, welcome lamps, a driver memory seat, a front passenger power seat with leg rest, a 15.6-inch screen and Sony nine-speaker audio.
  • Bookings have been open since the Penang Autoshow, and the boxy off-roader now goes on sale as one of the most affordable ways into Jetour's tough-looking SUV design language.

Malaysian buyers get two variants: the 1.5L TGDi 2WD and the range-topping 2.0L TGDi XWD. Both share the same upright, adventure-ready stance, but they are pitched at quite different buyers, so the split matters.

Jetour T1 price and launch package Malaysia

Jetour has priced the T1 sharply. The 1.5L TGDi 2WD goes for RM129,800 while the 2.0L TGDi XWD asks RM146,800, both nett selling prices for Peninsular Malaysia and excluding registration fee, inspection fee, HP ownership, road tax and insurance.

That undercuts the estimated booking figures of RM143,800 and RM153,800 by RM14,000 and RM7,000 respectively, which is a significant move in a segment where the Jetour T2, Chery Tiggo 8, Proton X90, GWM Haval H6 and Jaecoo J7 are all fighting on value.

Every T1 comes with a standard package covering five free service visits including labour and parts, a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, and a 10-year or 1,000,000 km powertrain warranty on the engine.

Early buyers get more on top. The first 2,000 registrations receive a RM2,000 cash rebate, and Jetour is offering financing rates from as low as 1.68 percent. Terms and conditions apply.

Two turbo engines, both with a 7-speed dual clutch

The 1.5L TGDi 2WD runs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 170 PS and 270 Nm, sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Jetour quotes fuel consumption of 6.8L/100km.

Step up to the 2.0L TGDi XWD and you get a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 245 PS and 375 Nm, paired with the same seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox but now driving all four wheels through Jetour's intelligent XWD system. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.6L/100km.

Built rugged, sized for the city

The T1 measures 4,705 mm long, 1,967 mm wide and rides on a 2,800 mm wheelbase, which makes it a touch shorter and narrower than the T2 while keeping the same wheelbase.

The look is unmistakably boxy and upright, finished with Storm-Eye LED headlamps, full LED head and tail lamps, and a power tailgate on both variants.

Wheels are where the two split visually. The 1.5L rolls on 18-inch alloys wrapped in 235/65R18 rubber, while the 2.0L XWD gets petal-style 19-inch alloys on 235/60R19 tyres.

A cabin that leans on rugged premium

Inside, the T1 goes for a smart-cockpit feel finished in black with orange accents. The 1.5L comes with leatherette seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, front ventilated seats, a 12.8-inch multimedia display with voice assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker audio setup, a 50W wireless charger and seven USB ports.

The 2.0L XWD stacks more on top. It adds a panoramic sunroof, welcome lamps, a driver memory seat with welcome function, a front passenger power seat with a power leg rest, a larger 15.6-inch multimedia screen and a Sony premium nine-speaker audio system. Both variants get multicolour ambient lighting.

    Safety

The Jetour T1 was tested by ASEAN NCAP in December 2025 and came away with a 5-star rating, scoring 87.67 points. Every variant gets six SRS airbags, a reinforced body structure, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a panoramic view monitoring system with a transparent chassis view.

Driver assistance is handled by a 14-function ADAS Level 2 suite, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane assist intervention (LAI), integrated cruise assist (ICA), blind spot detection (BSD), rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) and intelligent high beam (IHB).

Off-road credentials, if you want them

Capability is the 2.0L XWD's party trick. It adds the 7+X drive modes for different terrains, works through the intelligent XWD all-wheel-drive system, and the T1 is rated for a 600 mm wading depth, which is serious for a family SUV in this class.

What is different between the two variants

The simplest way to read the range is that the 1.5L TGDi 2WD covers the essentials well, and the 2.0L TGDi XWD adds everything on top for buyers who want the power, the all-wheel-drive hardware and the full luxury kit.

You step up to the 2.0L TGDi XWD for the bigger 2.0-litre engine (245 PS and 375 Nm versus 170 PS and 270 Nm), all-wheel drive through the XWD system, the 7+X drive modes, 19-inch alloys in place of 18s, a panoramic sunroof, welcome lamps, a driver memory seat with welcome function, a front passenger power seat with leg rest, the larger 15.6-inch screen over the 12.8-inch unit, and the Sony nine-speaker system over the standard eight-speaker setup.

Everything else, from the six airbags and ADAS Level 2 safety to the power tailgate, ventilated front seats, wireless charging and full LED lighting, carries across both cars.

    Colours

The T1 is offered in four exterior colours: Khaki White, Aviation Silver, Sand Gold and Carbon Black. The interior comes in black with orange accents.

For Malaysian buyers after rugged styling, a genuine off-road option and a long features list without stretching into premium-badge money, the Jetour T1 makes a strong case as one of the more interesting SUVs on sale in Malaysia in 2026.
