Kia Sportage 2016: SUV officially off the curtains, first official pics released

Kuala Lumpur: The first look of Kia Sportage 2016 is finally out of the curtains. We got our hands on the official pictures of this “next-gen” which were long overdue after the release of initial sketches. Of course, we already have an insight of this drive in-and-out through the leaked public images that went viral last week.

The new Kia Sportage is quite a big upgrade over the last generation. There is a big bluff nose at the front, a stand-alone aesthetic grille and high-mounted headlamps which give it a distinct classy appearance, however, the profile typically remains the same. The rear of this drive appears incredibly sharp as well given the slim wraparound LED tail lamps which are present higher at the belt line.

The interiors, as we know, have been revamped in terms of quality as well. According to a statement given by Kia UK boss Paul Philpott to Autocar, “We recognise that for a more demanding audience issues such as interior quality, refinement and ride and handling are essential. All of those aspects have been addressed. We have done this because of what our customers have told us.”

Top variants are expected to receive a large centralised touchscreen, a “rich build quality”, Harmon Kardon sound system and wireless phone charger. We will bring to you more details as soon as we get our hands on them.
